Beaches The hotel zone in Cancun is shaped like the number seven, and in this beautiful number of Cancun resorts are JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa and Marriott Cancun Resort. Beautiful white-sand beaches surround this hotel zone, and the northern end of the zone is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. If you want to surf, go to the right of the zone, where you are guaranteed to catch a wave. The Nichupte lagoon, to the left of the zone, is famous for Jet Skiing, sailing, kayaking, parasailing, windsurfing and water-skiing. But if you're looking for a calm and quiet area, visit Bahía de Mujeres (Mujeres Bay) at the north end of the hotel zone.
