Sprawling along a seven-mile stretch of ribboned white sand, this newly reborn resort debuts with a laid back attitude that captures the spirit and history of the Caribbean.
Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, on Seven Mile Beach, beckons for visitors to discover paradise in "barefoot luxury."
The island offers an ideal playground for outdoor activities. From cruising to the bottom of the sea in a private submarine or exploring botanical gardens, to scuba diving the a world-renowned destination or just kicking back and sipping chilled beverages poolside, no desire is left unmet. At sunset, guests gather at the beach and gaze upon the horizon in hopes of catching a glimpse of the green flash—an atmospheric phenomenon that is believed by local Caymanians to signify the last cannon shot by Columbus when he fought to protect The Cayman Islands from the final pirate pillage. From the celebration of dazzling sunsets with family, to selfish indulgence in the mind-numbing spa, the resort inspires guests to leave their shoes at the door and soak up the mellow mentality of the Cayman Islands.
Latitude/Longitude
Grand Cayman Island is sprinkled just south of Cuba on the fringe of the deepest part of the Caribbean Sea, where depths of over four miles deep have been recorded. Grand Cayman is located 85 miles southeast of its sister Islands, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac, and is a brief hour-long plane ride from Miami. The island is delimited by vivid coral reefs that lie atop of dramatic walls and drop-offs close to shore, creating ideal conditions exploring each enchanting layer of the Caribbean Sea.
Portrait
From the moment visitors step foot off the plane, they are greeted with the subtle sound of steel drums mixing with balmy off shore breezes. A short eight-minute ride to the resort uncovers panoramic views of sweeping white sand, wild banana orchids and towering silver thatch palm trees that outnumber street signs.
Splashed in rich, sparkling hues from sunrise to sunset, Mother Nature's portrait is one of emerald and turquoise waters contrasting with stark white sand, forming the breathtaking ambiance surrounding the 307 room resort.
The expansive brightly colored lobby gives way to a more intimate alcove, gently urging guests towards an open courtyard. The oasis is punctuated with series of ponds and fountains surrounded by a bountiful botanical garden rich with indigenous Cayman flora and fauna, iguanas, turtles and rare butterflies. The lush courtyard provides a gateway to guide guests toward the sea or a peaceful sanctuary for enjoying a chilled cocktail.

Divine Diving
The Cayman Islands are recognized as the "birthplace" of Scuba Diving. From novice to elite, the number and diversity of the dive sites accommodate any adventure.
Stingray City has been called "the world's best 12 foot dive" and offers Cayman's most unique marine experience for both divers and snorkelers. Each day up to 100 large southern stingrays congregate in two specific areas of warm, clear, shallow water in the North Sound. Although Stingray City is one of the most famous dive sites in the world, it is not an over-hyped tourist trap.
The North Wall drops deep into the abyss of the Caribbean with huge towers of coral punctuating the cliff-like boarders. Being less dived than the west, the North Wall is home to many large pelagics such as sharks, and schools of eagle rays. One particularly impressive resident of this area is a great hammerhead, measured at more than 15 ft. in length.
Shopping
Guests taking a drier path, rove around the extensive shopping stops on Seven Mile Beach like the quaint Capital, Georgetown. Grand Cayman is a duty-free destination, providing a manifold of opportunities to save on such items as watches, china, crystal, perfumes and fine jewelry. Ladies find the extensive collection of David Yurman, Stephen Lagos and John Hardy jewelry engaging while dads drool over Rolex and Breitling watches.
Golf
Providing a great game for golfers of all levels, The Links at Safehaven is Cayman's only 18-hole championship course with five driving distance options.
The Britannia is the only Jack Nicklaus-designed course in the Caribbean. The Britannia is comprised of two courses with a unique18 hole executive with par 3's and 4's.
Sunrise Family Golf Centre is Grand Cayman's newest golf course. Sunrise is a 9-hole par 3 course, located 15 minutes from George Town.
