St. Kitts—An Undiscovered Paradise

Your personal discovery of St. Kitts begins as the plane circles the airport and you catch a first glimpse of the lush green sugarcane fields and clear blue of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Departing from the airplane affords your first breath of the clear, crisp Caribbean air.
The St. Kitts Marriott Resort and The Royal Beach Casino boasts nine meeting rooms with 38,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting space and innovative catering menus. These amenities combined with breathtaking scenery and welcoming staff members ensure the perfect setting for your meeting in Paradise.

Day One:
Upon arrival at the resort, the staff is lined up to greet you, some wearing the national costume of St. Kitts and neighboring Nevis. Enjoy an icy cold towel and a refreshing beverage as you approach the hospitality desk for your group’s private check-in. Steel band music with its unique crystal-clear sounds plays in the background. Smiling bellmen are on hand to assist with luggage and directions to your immaculate room accommodations.
In the evening, a welcome reception awaits you in the Grand Plaza. Hurricane lanterns set the table mood and standing lampposts magically light the area as the sun sets. A local band is on stage enticing the audience with the colorful sounds of the Caribbean. Craft vendors display their wares on the sidelines in mini-craft-market style. The festivities begin with traditional local folklore performances accompanied by the heartbeat of local music, the “big drum.” This entire welcome event will serve to heighten anticipation of the adventures planned for the days ahead.

Day Two:
After made-to-order omelets or eggs and an American-style breakfast buffet, your group embarks on an action-packed island tour. Guests visit cultural sites like Independence Square and a countryside sugar plantation. Lunch is hosted by Ottley’s Plantation, an original 17th-century sugar plantation, situated on 35 acres of rolling lawns and gardens in the foothills of majestic Mt. Liamuiga. Bring your camera to capture all the majestic views of the surrounding Atlantic.
Later, a Cuban-themed evening begins with cocktails in Keys Cigar and Rum Bar. Hors d’oeuvres set in miniature wooden boats sit atop giant antique rum barrels to tantalize the taste buds. The air is alive with the scent of Cuban cigars and authentic Cuban sounds and rhythms to enliven the crowd. Guests dine at the resort’s signature steakhouse restaurant, the Royal Grille.

Day Three:
The guests journey to the grounds for a picnic-style breakfast at Romney Manor—home of the ancient “Saman Tree.” Over 350 years old, its full branches cover more than a half-acre of the plantation! After breakfast, today’s adventure is a hike to Mt. Liamuiga. The hike takes your group through exotic vegetation, where vine-laden trees, tropical wildflowers, a wide variety of rare and colorful birds and butterflies dominate the scenery. Our friends, the elusive green Vervet monkeys, may also be curious to see how you are faring on your day’s hike through the mountains. Plants are ten times greener, colors more vibrant, and the air more refreshing the higher you climb. It all culminates in an awe-inspiring view when you arrive at the crater.
In the afternoon, guests venture out to explore the amenities St. Kitts Marriott Resort offers. The possibilities are endless—guests can pamper themselves at the Emerald Mist Spa with a facial or signature Kittitian massage. Guests can enjoy a round of golf at our pristine Royal St. Kitts Golf Club or sip cocktails while relaxing by any of our three pools. The evening closes with a quiet dinner on property at the Royal Pavilion, with themed décor that reminds guests of the morning’s adventures in the tropical rainforest.

Day Four:
The theme for today’s events is “Under the Sea.” After breakfast, you will be whisked away to Port Zante to board a catamaran called “Swahili.” The trip’s first stop is the sugar-fine white sands of Friars Bay. Next stop is our sister island, Nevis. Nevis’ subdued, elegant tranquility coupled with the quiet beauty of the island is meant to soothe and rejuvenate the soul. Guests visit Turtle Beach in the afternoon, where waitstaff are on hand to provide cool drinks and towels. Upon returning to St. Kitts, your group’s final dinner is a grand affair under the stars of Brimstone Hill. This well-restored 38-acre fortress is part of a national park dedicated by Queen Elizabeth in 1985. The physical location of the fortress presents attractive panoramic vistas of forested mountains, cultivated fields and the historical township of Sandy Point. Once again, local folklore is the entertainment, with the night culminating in an awards ceremony and a fireworks display.

Day Five:
Guests bid farewell to St. Kitts after a leisurely breakfast. The staff, dressed and saluting you as you depart, are always ready to welcome you for your next Caribbean adventure!
